The city of Kassel with its 200 000 inhabitants lies roughly in the geographical middle of Germany. It can easily be reached by car using the freeways (autobahn) A7, A44, A49. The city is connected to the German intercity speed railway system (ICE). The railway station is located in Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe from which the conference location can be reached in about 500 meters (or one stop by street tram) to the west. The next larger airports are in Frankfurt (200 km to the south) and Hannover (160 km to the north).
